The project

Climate change has become a global concern. Emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG), mostly due to human action, produce profound changes in the atmosphere, and modify the weather patterns.

The AMAL Intermunicipal Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change focuses on the identification of the main climate vulnerabilities (current and future) and the study of possible adaptation strategies of the municipalities that form the Intermunicipal Community of Algarve (AMAL).

Therefore, the intervention area consists of its 16 municipalities: Albufeira, Alcoutim, Aljezur, Castro Marim, Faro, Lagoa, Lagos, Loulé, Monchique, Olhão, Portimão, São Brás de Alportel, Silves, Tavira, Vila do Bispo and Vila Real de Santo António.
